Part 1, 60 minutes of Jean-Michel Cousteau: Ocean Adventures: Return to the Amazon(2008) was broadcast on PBS Wednesday evening.
A lot of under water diving photography, a focus on sustainable uses of the forest plants and benefits of eco-tourism was the focus. The next half will be broadcast next week. Good documentary.
The PBS on-line store sells the 120 minute DVD for $25

Gotta see this. It will bring me many memories. Commander Cousteau and the Calypso did their first formal Amazon/Orinoco exploration in the late 70's early 80's. They were in the Orinoco in 1979... the Calypso docked at Lake Maracaibo in Summer 79. They invited a group of professors and students from the School of Science (I was luckily one of them) and we spent an afternoon on the ship and met some of the Calypso's foremen. Phillipe died that week in a hydroplane accident in Portugal. Some of the Calypso's crew members shared mass with us at the Zulia State University Chapel.
Regards
Ed
