One of my angels jumped out of his tank today. Luckily enough for me my wife happened to be at home and was able to get him back, no harm done..

I have had them for about 3 weeks and this is the first time, but todays incident just bummed me out :(

My question is do most of you have hoods for your angel tanks? My tank is fairly heavily planted and has some powerful lights on, I think the water would heat up a lot if I covered it.

Every tank in my fishroom has covers...it's for jumpers and humidity control.

It's hard for me to imagine an uncovered tank with angels in it. They can actually make it out of very small gaps, unluckily.

A cover will not only avoid that fish will jump out of the tank. Evaporation of water will cool the water in your tank. Cooling of the water by evaporation is much higher than heat losses by simple thermal conductivity.
