This is 50 ltr. of expanded clay rocks for hydroponics from on line home depot. I am going to use this for my wet dry on the 125. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Viagrow-50-l-ViaStone-Hydroponic-Gardening-Grow-Rock-Medium-VS50-GROW-ROCKS/202985175?MERCH=RV-_-RV_search_plp_rr-2-_-NA-_-202985175-_-N

i only use pumice stone.that stuff is cheap as chips and it works great.
i have actually noticed a drop in nitrates since i started using it exclusively 3 years ago and since then, i use nothing else.i have a theory about the nitrate drop but i cant confirm it without lab testing the material.
up ntil then i was using siporax and substrat pro as filter media in my aquariums..
it is in escence, what seachem sells as matrix, just not as clean(i always wash it when its new) and not marketed as an aquarium product.
